Joe Haines
Joe Haines worked as a journalist before joining Harold Wilson in 10 Downing Street in 1969, and served as press secretary until Wilson's resignation in 1976. He then returned to journalism, becoming political editor of the Daily Mirror - for which newspaper he was also assistant editor, columnist and chief leader writer.
