Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson was born in 1959 in Edinburgh and grew up in Suffolk. He studied politics, philosophy and economics at Balliol College, Oxford and then took a course in journalism at the London College of Printing. He was deputy editor of European Nuclear Disarmament Journal1984-7, reviews editor of Tribune 1986-91 and editor of Tribune 1991-3. He left to become deputy editor of the New Statesman and Society (1993-6). He co-authored (with Nyta Mann) Safety First: The Making of New Labour (Granta, 1997) and has been a Tribune columnist since 1998. He currently teaches journalism at City University, London and moonlights as a sub-editor on the Guardian's comment pages. He lives in Ipswich.
